The Stamford Museum & Nature Center is dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of art and popular culture, the natural and agricultural sciences, and history. The Frances R. Dewing Foundation was created on April 4, 1963 by Frances Hall Rousmaniere Dewing. The foundation is a small, non-profit charitable organization that supports innovative approaches to the education of young children in the United States.
The City of Stamford has created the Stamford Arts & Culture Commission, which has been charged with stimulating, facilitating, coordinating, and cooperating with Stamford's arts and cultural organizations (as well as individual artists) for the development of the creative, performing and visual arts. It shall serve as an information center and focal point in the city for activities in the arts.
